A small front garden project we took on in Wallan. The owner was just too busy to work on lifting the appearance of his front yard and wanted to prepare his property for a pending sale. Incidentally the property, when listed, sold within a week. The new garden contributing substantially to the incredibly quick result.
The property was in reasonably good shape with a basic lawn/garden layout, but it lacked a finish that would make it stand out when prospective buyers came along to inspect.
We started with the nature strip, which was basically just a pile of weeds and dirt and decided that it needed a new layer of soil and then application of lawn seed to achieve a balanced yet attractive first view of the property. We then added new plants to existing garden beds and created new beds, to which we added shrubs and a feature tree.
The upgrade approach was simple yet very effective in completely changing the initial viewing aspect. Key elements included:
- adding definition to garden beds
- adding a feature tree
- filling gardens with complementary plants
- making the nature strip an inviting feature
